About the GPiL
The Graduate Programme in Logic, organized by the Institute for Logic, Language and Computation (ILLC) of the University of Amsterdam, is international in its scope, and incorporates a PhD programme, an MSc programme, and the Logic Year. The Master's programme started in 1995; a PhD programme has been offered since 1986, when the ILLC started as the Instituut voor Taal, Logica en Informatie (ITLI). The Logic Year was introduced in 2003.
On September 1, 2012, 42 PhD students, 82 MSc students, 4 Logic Year students and 1 Exchange students from 37 different countries and 5 continents were enrolled.
The Graduate Programme offers courses and research training in foundations of mathematical and philosophical logic, and their applications in computer science, linguistics, and cognitive science. Courses are taught by the highly international staff of the ILLC.
