Fast Track & Transfer Credits
Advanced students (typically students who already have an MSc or MA degree in a related subject) can apply for transfer credits by contacting Dr. Ulle Endriss. Such applications will be individually judged by the Board of Examiners also taking into account the record of the applicant. Transfer credits will only be granted to strong students with a firm background in logic for relevant graduate level courses. The Board of Examiners can grant transfer credits up to 40 EC.
If 40 EC in transfer credits are granted, it is possible to complete the MSc Logic in one year. Students doing the MSc in one year are called Fast Track students. Note that this means that they have to complete 50 credits in the first semester and write the thesis in the second semester. Only very strong students with a deep determination can finish the MSc in one year.
If more than 20 transfer credits are granted, there is an option of a Semi-Fast Track. These students can attempt to do the MSc in Logic in three semesters. In that case, they would take courses during the first two semesters and write the thesis in the third semester.
