There will be special sessions on *Automa ta in Deep Learning* and *Algorithmic Information Dynamics* with a particular interest in aspects of computability in causation and reprogrammability. AUTOMATA 2020 is innovating on various fronts gi ven the challenge of climate change we want to red uce the conference Carbon footprint through a virt ual attendance option, and also by addressing the underrepresentation of young and minority groups i n the field. Submissions presenting original and unpublished research on all fundamental aspects of cellular automata and related discrete complex sy stems are being sought. There are two categories of submission: full papers and exploratory papers. Full papers are meant to report more complete and denser research, while the later submission deadl ine for exploratory papers allows short reports of recent discoveries, work-in-progress and/or parti al results. Submissions in the full paper category are refereed and selected by the program committe e. Papers in the exploratory category go through a less rigorous evaluation process. All accepted pa pers must be presented (in person or virtually) at the conference. Submissions should contain origin al research that has not previously been published . X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:
