After careful con sideration of the pandemic situation, the conferen ce is moving online. The registration for PaM2020 is now open and free. We welcome all probabilisti c approaches, developed within a computational fra mework, to the semantics of natural language for w ritten, spoken, or multimodal communication. Paper s are invited on topics in these and closely relat ed areas. PaM will feature three types of submiss ions: long papers, student papers, and short paper s. All types of papers should be submitted not lat er than 12th February, 2020. Long papers describe original research, and they must not exceed 8 page s excluding references. Student papers describe or iginal research, and the first author must be a st udent, or at least 2/3 of the work on a paper shou ld be done by students. Student papers must not ex ceed 6 pages excluding references. Reviewers will give special support to student authors through me ntoring. Short papers present work in progress, or they describe systems and/or projects. They must not exceed 4 pages excluding references. X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:
Probabili ty and Meaning (PaM) is a conference organized by the Centre for Linguistic Theory and Studies in Pr obability (CLASP). PaM will bring together r esearchers interested in computationally relevant probabilistic approaches to natural language meani ng. PaM will include symbolic, machine learning an d experimental approaches to this task, as well as hybrid models.
\n\nAfter careful consider ation of the pandemic situation, the conference is moving online. The registration for PaM2020 is no w open and free.
We welcome a ll probabilistic approaches, developed within a co mputational framework, to the semantics of natural language for written, spoken, or multimodal commu nication. Papers are invited on topics in these an d closely related areas.
\n\nPaM will feat ure three types of submissions: long papers, stude nt papers, and short papers. All types of papers s hould be submitted not later than 12th February, 2 020. Long papers describe original research, and t hey must not exceed 8 pages excluding references. Student papers describe original research, and the first author must be a student, or at least 2/3 o f the work on a paper should be done by students. Student papers must not exceed 6 pages excluding r eferences. Reviewers will give special support to student authors through mentoring. Short papers pr esent work in progress, or they describe systems a nd/or projects. They must not exceed 4 pages exclu ding references.
