Using the c ommon ground of vector spaces, the workshop offers researchers in these areas an appropriate forum f or presenting their uniquely motivated work and id eas. The interplay between the three disciplines w ill foster theoretically motivated approaches to u nderstanding how meanings of words interact with e ach other in sentences and discourse via grammatic al types, how they are determined by input from th e world, and how word and sentence meanings intera ct logically. COVID-19 note: the workshop will ta ke place, either in an online format or in person if the situation allows. Since ESSLLI 2020 (with w hich the workshop was originally to be co-located) has been cancelled, the dates and location may be subject to slight change. Submission to the main SEMSPACE workshop can be original contributions ( up to 16 pages) of previously unpublished work (su bmission of substantial, albeit partial results of work in progress is welcomed), or extended abstra cts (3 pages) of previously published work that is recent and relevant to the workshop. A special s ession will address the relevance of formal gramma r methods in deep learning and other statistical a nd vector space approaches to language. This sessi on was originally planned to be held jointly with the Formal Grammar conference which has been cance lled. We welcome papers that were submitted for th e joint FG/SemSpace session as SemSpace submission s under the present CfP. X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:
