This workshop is about possible en hancements of lexical resources and electronic dic tionaries, as well as on any aspect relevant to th e achieve a better understanding of the mental lex icon and semantic memory. Chris Biemann, well know n among other things for his work on graph-based N LP, has kindly accepted to give the invited talk. Like in the past (2004, 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2014) , we will invite researchers to address various un solved problems, by putting this time stronger emp hasis though on distributional semantics (DS). Ind eed, we would like to see work showing the relevan ce of DS as a cognitive model of the lexicon. We solicit contributions including but not limited to the following topics: (computational, corpus) lin guistics, neuro- or psycholinguistics (tip of the tongue problem, associations), network related sci ences (sociology, economy, biology), mathematics (vector-based approaches, graph theory, small-worl d problem), etc. Submission deadline for papers: S eptember 25. We also plan to organize a 'friendly competition' for corpus-based models of lexical n etworks and navigation, using training and test da ta provided by the organizers. Deadline to express interest: September 26th. X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:
The goal of COGALEX is to provide a forum for researchers i n NLP, psychologists, computational lexicographers and users of lexical resources to share their kno wledge and needs concerning the construction, orga nization and use of a lexicon by people (lexical a ccess) and machines (NLP, IR, data-mining).
\n\ nThis workshop is about possible enhancements of lexical resources and electronic dictionaries, as well as on any aspect relevant to the achieve a better understanding of the mental lexicon and s emantic memory. Chris Biemann, well known among ot her things for his work on graph-based NLP, has ki ndly accepted to give the invited talk. Like in th e past (2004, 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2014), we will invite researchers to address various unsolved pro blems, by putting this time stronger emphasis thou gh on distributional semantics (DS). Indeed, we wo uld like to see work showing the relevance of DS a s a cognitive model of the lexicon.
