A significant number of fundamental concepts that are ubiquitous in ec onomics have only recently been approached from an ontological perspective. For instance: value, ris k, preference, utility, capability, good, service, exchange, transaction, competition. This workshop offers a venue to gather the recent contributions to this important topic. The workshop is part of the Joint Ontology Workshop Programme associated with the 10th International Conference on Formal O ntology in Information Systems (FOIS). We welcome submissions from areas such as (philosophy of) ec onomics, decision theory, social choice theory, bu siness, finance, accounting, economic sociology, a nd enterprise modeling, to promote the discussion of the ontological foundation of fundamental conce pts in economics.
