ILLC News and Events Submission Form

The form below allows you to submit material that you would like to be added to the News pages of the ILLC and MScLogic sites.

General remarks

  • Please note that these pages are moderated: your item will not immediately appear on the webpages.
  • English submissions are strongly preferred.
  • For minor updates to existing entries you can also email the news administrators directly.
  • Submissions to the ILLC website are also put on the ILLC News mailing list that is sent out every week to the ILLC community and interested parties.
  • Announcements for conference or workshop are sent out in a monthly ILLC Conference mailing. Unless they are actively sponsored by the ILLC, this is instead of the weekly mailings.
  • A news item will normally be included in the mailings 2-3 times: when announced, just before the CFP deadline (if any), and just before the date on which the event takes place (if any). If you want a newsitem to be re-announced in the mailings, do not re-submit it: instead, make a request to the news administrators that an exception be made.

1. Select a Type of Announcement

For your convenience, to avoid having to type in the same text every time, some of these regular entries have been collected in the menu below. Selecting one of these entries will automatically fill out all the appropriate input fields.



2. Enter Data Fields of Announcement

Next, please add any data fields you feel appropriate, such as date, location, speakers etc. Select a field from the selection menu on the left side, and enter a value in the corresponding input box on the right side. Some fields will already have been preselected and/or preentered. These are suggestions, based on the type of entry you selected previously, and you can change these as desired.

Note that you do not need to enter a title for the newsitem itself: this will be generated automatically based on the other fields.

Please enter dates as either 'Monday 1 January 2001' or '12-25 January 2001' wherever applicable.




3. Add Description and/or Reference

Next, please add a short description and/or a reference to other information, if available. Combined, these should not be more than one or two paragraphs in length. Longer descriptions can be entered at Step 4 if desired. Note that if you do not provide an explicit reference to more information, your email address will be used for this.

4. Add Text for Separate Page (optional)

If the text of your item is longer than two paragraphs, you can put brief summaries in the description and/or reference fields and enter the full text here. This text will be shown on a separate page. Put the complete text of the announcement here, including contents that is already in the brief-description or reference fields: those fields will not be shown on the newsitem's separate page.

If a webpage for the item already exists, please put the location of that webpage in the 'reference' field and leave this field empty. Note that the webmaster will likely discard the contents of this field if it is already available at your webpage.




5. Add Remarks to Administrators and Contact Information

Please add any remarks to the administrators of the newslists (for instance, "test", "update", an expiration date for the announcement if it is not obvious, etc.), and some contact information for yourself.

6. Continue to Confirmation Page

Finally, please click on the Continue to Confirmation Page button. On the Confirmation Page, you can click 'Confirm Submission' in order to send your entry to the list and website administrators.
