Tenure-track position in theoretical computer science, Hong Kong University

The Department of Computer Science in the School of Engineering of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology has two faculty positions open at the assistant professor level for the 2006-2007 academic year. The Department currently has 40 faculty members recruited from major universities and research institutions around the world, about 580 undergraduate students, and about 140 postgraduate students. The Department is looking for faculty candidates with research interests in the following areas: embedded systems, programming languages and compiler, software engineering, and theoretical computer science. The medium of instruction is English.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree and demonstrated potential in teaching and research. Salary and benefits are very competitive. Initial appointments will normally be on a three-year contract, renewable subject to mutual agreement. A gratuity will be payable on satisfactory completion of the contract.
