IWCS is t he bi-yearly meeting of SIGSEM, the ACL special in terest group on semantics. The aim of the IWCS con ference is to bring together researchers intereste d in any aspects of the computation, annotation, e xtraction, and representation of meaning in natura l language, whether from a lexical or structural s emantic perspective. IWCS embraces both symbolic a nd machine learning approaches to computational se mantics, and everything in between.
\n\nTh e main conference will be run from 25-27 May 2019, preceded by workshops on 23-24 May. The areas of interest for the conference include all computatio nal aspects of meaning of natural language within written, spoken, or multimodal communication.
\ nThree types of submission are s olicited: long papers, student papers and short pa pers. Long papers should describe original researc h, and will have a full oral presentation at the c onference. Student papers should describe original research but the first author must be a student o r at least 2/3 of the work on a paper should be co mpleted by students; the papers will have a full o ral presentation at the conference in a special st udent session. Short papers (typically system or p roject descriptions, or ongoing research) will hav e a lightning talk at the conference, followed by a poster/demo session for discussion. All types of papers should be submitted not later than 15th Ja nuary, 2019.
\n\nAdditionally, workshop pr oposals are invited on any of the conference topic s and closely related areas. Deadline: 10 November .
