SUMMARY:SIROCCO 2006: 13th Colloquium on Structura
l Information and Communication Complexity, Cheste
 r, United Kingdom
DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20060703

LOCATION:Chester, United Kingdom
DESCRIPTION:The Colloquia on Structural Informatio
n and Communication Complexity (SIROCCO) focus on
the relationship between computing and communicati
on, i.e., the study of those factors that are sign
ificant for the computability and the communicatio
n complexity of problems and on the interplay betw
een structure, knowledge and complexity. The Collo
quia provide an opportunity to bring together spec
ialists interested in the fundamental principles u
nderlying all computing through communication. S
IROCCO prides itself on being a lively venue, whic
h encourages the emergence of new research areas (
related to distributed computing in a broad sense)
and the dissemination of original ideas. This is
achieved by dedicating ample time for informal dis
cussions and open problem sessions in addition to
regular conference activities. For more informa
 tion, see http://sirocco06.csc.liv.ac.uk/ Author
s are invited to submit their work in one of the t
hree acceptable formats: novel research contributi
ons, position papers, and surveys. Deadline for su
 bmission: February 17, 2006.
