AIIA 2019 is organized by the Italian Association for Artif icial Intelligence (AIIA – Associazione Italiana p er l’Intelligenza Artificiale), which is a non-pro fit scientific society founded in 1988 devoted to the promotion of Artificial Intelligence. The soci ety aims to increase the public awareness of AI, e ncourage the teaching of it and promote research i n the field. The conference covers broadly the man y aspects of theoretical and applied Artificial In telligence. A Doctoral Consortium and a series of workshops dedicated to specific topics enhance the program.
\nAIIA 2019 welcome s submissions covering all areas of AI, including (but not limited to) machine learning, search, pla nning, knowledge representation, reasoning, constr aint satisfaction, natural language processing, ro botics and perception, and multiagent systems. We encourage all types of high-quality contributions including theoretical, engineering and applied pap ers. We also encourage contributions on AI techniq ues in the context of novel application domains, s uch as security, sustainability, health care, tran sportation, and commerce.
\n\nBesides regu lar original papers, in this edition we also welco me discussion papers containing descriptions of re sults recently published or accepted for the prese ntation in international conferences. Discussion p apers are expected to be more broadly accessible t han regular papers, they are an opportunity for th e authors to present their recent results to the A I community, and a valuable addition for the atten dees of AIIA 2019.
