SUMMARY:Eleventh International Symposium on Founda
tions of Information and Knowledge Systems (FoIKS
  2020), Dortmund, Germany
DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20200217
DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20200221
LOCATION:Dortmund, Germany
DESCRIPTION:The FoIKS symposia provide a biennial
forum for presenting and discussing theoretical an
d applied research on information and knowledge sy
stems. The goal is to bring together researchers w
ith an interest in this subject, share research ex
periences, promote collaboration and identify new
issues and directions for future research. FoIKS
2020 solicits original contributions dealing with
any foundational aspect of information and knowled
ge systems. This includes submissions that apply i
deas, theories or methods from specific discipline
s to information and knowledge systems. Examples o
f such disciplines are discrete mathematics, logic
and algebra, model theory, information theory, c
omplexity theory, algorithmics and computation, st
atistics and optimization. The FoIKS symposia are
a forum for intense discussions. Speakers will be
given sufficient time to present their ideas and
results within the larger context of their researc
h; furthermore, participants will be asked to prep
