SUMMARY:Postponed, Trends in Logic XX "Logic and R
easoning: Formal and Informal", Kyiv, Ukraine
DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20210912
DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20210914
LOCATION:Kyiv, Ukraine
DESCRIPTION:Reasoning is at the very heart of logi
c, constituting its subject matter. In the last fe
w decades, there has been considerable progress bo
th in the purely logical analysis of reasoning and
in applied logical investigations of various conc
rete subject domains, such as philosophical and sc
ientific discourse, logic programming and everyday
communication. Along with further elaboration of
standard techniques a range of other approaches an
d semantic modeling of logical systems are being d
eveloped. Moreover, there is a powerful tradition
of analyzing and evaluating reasoning patterns by
means of informal logic and argumentation theory.
The aim of the conference is to bring together sch
olars working in various areas of proof-theoretic,
semantic, argumentative and informal logic analys
is. Invited Speakers: Hans van Ditmarsch (French
National Centre for Scientific Research, France),
Valentin Goranko (Stockholm University, Sweden), D
ale Hample (University of Maryland, USA) and Hitos
hi Omori (Ruhr-University Bochum, Germany). Due t
o the continuing coronavirus pandemic, the event i
n May 2021 has been suspended, but the organizers
hope to hold the conference in Kyiv as soon as cir
cumstances permit, as well as hold the regular con
ference in May 2022. Abstracts of at most three p
ages length (including references) should be submi
tted electronically as pdf documents using the Eas
yChair submission page. At least one author of eac
h accepted paper must register for, and attend the
conference to present her or his work.
