SUMMARY:Conference on Digital Curation Technologie
 s (Qurator 2020), Berlin, Germany
DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20200120
DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20200121
LOCATION:Berlin, Germany
DESCRIPTION:Digital curation is a complex time and
knowledge intensive process, in which knowledge w
orkers create new content artifacts and knowledge
insights from heterogeneous sources (content, data
, knowledge). The work required for this includes,
  e.g., selecting, summarizing, scheduling, transla
 ting, localising, structuring, condensing, enrichi
ng, visualizing and explaining the various content
s, from sources such as online newspapers, news po
rtals, social media, linked data, business informa
tion systems, IoT data streams etc. AI, in particu
lar from the field of language and semantic knowle
dge technologies, are used to support these tasks
and thereby accelerate and qualitatively improve t
hem. The conference provides a forum on the use o
f digital curation technologies in application dom
ains for, e.g., media, journalism, logistics, cult
ural heritage, health care and life sciences, ener
gy, industry. Of particular relevance are papers t
hat demonstrate the applied use of digital curatio
n technologies and tools in domain-specific use ca
ses and that bridge traditional boundaries between
disciplines such as Artificial Intelligence and S
emantic Web, data analytics and machine learning,
 information/content and knowledge management syste
ms, information retrieval, knowledge discovery, an
d computational linguistics. The following types
of submissions are invited: - Regular papers (10-
15 pages), including Research papers (original res
earch on a topic of interest) and In-use papers (n
ew applications and tool descriptions addressing a
topic of interest). - Short papers: (5-9 pages),
including Use Case and Position papers (use case
descriptions and application notes, discovery note
s, using digital curation applications and tools),
Poster and Software demo papers (presenting softw
are and tools in action), and Industry application
papers (reporting on industrial applications addr
essing a topic of interest) - Student papers: (5-
 15 pages) e.g. describing results from bachelor/ma
ster theses or student projects; the best student
paper will receive an award. Topics of interest i
nclude, but are not limited to: - Management of D
igitally Curated and Semantically Expressive Infor
mation and Knowledge - AI-based / Semantic Large
Scale and Complex Information and Content Analysis
   - Applications, Evaluations, and Experiences of
 applying digital curation technologies, standards,
  and tools.
