Integrati ng generic and contextual knowledge remains a chal lenging task in Computational Linguistics and inte rfacing fields. While current data-driven models e xcel in capturing broad regularities, they can fai l to apply this information to specific situations . The GeCKo symposium seeks to 1) understand the i ssues involved in the integration of generic and s ituation-specific information in Computational Lin guistics, across applications and research areas; 2) identify ways forward; and 3) cross-fertilize C omputational Linguistics with Machine Learning, Li nguistics, and Cognitive Science researchers worki ng at this junction.
\n\nThe GeCKo symposi um will feature talks by invited speakers, contrib uted talks, as well as a poster session preceded b y lightning talks.
\nFor the GeCKo symposium we seek contributions dealing with this issue, at the crossroads of Computational Li nguistics, Machine Learning, Linguistics, and Cogn itive Science; including areas such as Language an d Vision, and Machine Translation. We seek contrib utions of published work as well as unpublished re search, of the following, non-exclusive types: Ana lysis, Modelling, Cross-fertilizing, or Position p apers.
