ISA-16 is the sixteenth edition of a series of joint worksh ops of the ACL Special Interest Group in Semantics (SIGSEM) and the International Organisation for S tandardisation ISO. ISA-workshops bring together e xperts in the annotation of semantic information a s expressed in text, speech, gestures, graphics, v ideo, images, and in communicative behaviour where multiple modalities are combined. Examples of sem antic annotation include the markup of events, tim e, space, dialogue acts, discourse relations, sema ntic roles, coreference, quantification phenomena, and other aspects of meaning for which the ISO or ganisation pursues the establishment and applicati on of standardised annotation methods and represen tation schemes, in order to support the creation o f interoperable semantic and pragmatic resources.< /p>\n\n
Besides a main track, ISA-16 will feat ure two specialised tracks, focused on (a) the ann otation of quantification (and quantified modifica tion) in natural language and (b) the design and r epresentation of data structures for generating vi sualisations of linguistically represented objects , properties, and events. Both specialised tracks will consist of a pre-conference on-line portion a nd an on-site portion during the ISA-16 workshop.< /p>\n\n
As the LREC 2020 conference has been c ancelled, due to the Covid-19 outbreak, so has the ISA-16 workshop. The workshop proceedi ngs are however published according to the ori ginal schedule.

Submission of papers is in PDF form t hrough the ISA-16 submission site. All submitted p apers should be formatted using the LREC 2020 styl esheet. Authors will have the possibility, when su bmitting a paper, to upload Language Resources in a special LREC repository and have them assigned a n International Standard Language Resource Number (ISLRN).
