SUMMARY:Conference "Disagreements: from Theory to
 Practice", Tartu, Estonia
DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20200311
DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20200313
LOCATION:Tartu, Estonia
DESCRIPTION:The theoretical aspects of disagreemen
ts in fields such as ontology, logic, epistemology
, and ethics have already received extensive treat
ment in the philosophical literature. There is a p
lethora of views debated at an increased level of
sophistication at a very high level of abstraction
(e.g. conciliationist vs steadfast views in the e
pistemology of disagreement). What is much less di
scussed are the practical consequences of these th
eoretical models of disagreement. The conference '
Disagreements: from Theory to Practice' aims to br
idge the gap between theory and practice and inqui
re into the implications of theoretical positions
for real life disagreements. Our confirmed speaker
s include Margit Sutrop, Daniel Cohnitz and Folke
 Tersman.
