DESCRIPTION:The International Joint Conference on
Rules and Reasoning (RuleML+RR) is the leading int
ernational joint conference in the field of rule-b
ased reasoning. Stemming from the synergy between
the well-known RuleML and RR events, one of the ma
in goals of this conference is to build bridges be
tween academia and industry. RuleML+RR 2020 aims
to bring together rigorous researchers and inventi
ve practitioners, interested in the foundations an
d applications of rules and reasoning in academia,
  industry, engineering, business, finance, healthc
are and other application areas. It provides a for
um for stimulating cooperation and cross-fertiliza
tion between the many different communities focuse
d on the research, development and applications of
  rule-based systems. RuleML+RR 2020 is co-located
with DecisionCAMP 2020 and the 16th Reasoning Web
Summer School (RW 2020), as part of the Declarati
ve AI 2020 event. The theme of the 2020 edition is
 : Explainable algorithmic decision-making High-qu
ality papers related to theoretical advances, nove
l technologies, and artificial intelligence applic
 ations concerning explainable algorithmic decision
-making that involve rule-based representation and
reasoning are solicited. In addition to regular s
 ubmissions, RuleML+RR 2020 will include the 14th I
nternational Rule Challenge, a Doctoral Consortium
, an Industry Track, and a Posters and Interaction
s session. RuleML+RR welcomes research from all a
reas of Rules and Reasoning, including topics from
our 2020 theme: explainable algorithmic decision-
making. We accept long papers (which should presen
t original and significant research and/or develop
ment results) and short papers (which should conci
sely describe general results or specific applicat
ions, systems, or position statements). Submitted
papers must not substantially overlap with papers
that have been published or that are simultaneous
ly submitted to a journal or a conference/workshop
with formal proceedings. Double submission to a w
orkshop with informal proceedings is allowed.
