SUMMARY:4th Workshop on Foundational Ontology (FOU
 ST IV)
DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20201014
DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20200916
LOCATION:Virtual
DESCRIPTION:The purpose of this workshop is to pro
vide a forum for researchers to present work on sp
ecific foundational ontologies as well as foundati
onal ontologies in general and their relations to
each other and to the wider ontological enterprise
. The 4th Workshop on Foundational Ontology (FOUST
IV) is organised as part of the Joint Ontology Wo
rkshops and hosted by the Bolzano Summer of Knowle
dge. Relevant topics include: Changes to existing
foundational ontologies / extension by new module
sAny specific category or topic usually covered by
foundational ontology (e.g., functions, roles, ti
me, mereology)Theoretical results about specific f
oundational ontologies (e.g., consistency proof of
significant parts of an existing foundational ont
ology)Comparison and alignments of foundational on
 tologiesRelationship between foundational ontologi
es and domain ontologiesApplications of foundation
al ontologies in AI, Semantic Web, Linguistics, et
 c. We encourage different types of contribution:
Full research papers (10 pages) and Short papers (
6 pages). Papers should be submitted non-anonymous
ly in PDF format following IOS Press formatting gu
idelines. All contributions to JOWO workshops will
be published in a joint CEUR proceedings volume.
