SUMMARY:Second NAtural LOgic meets MAchine Learnin
 g Workshop (NALOMA'21), Online, Netherlands
DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20210614
DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20210618
LOCATION:Online, Netherlands
DESCRIPTION:After the successful completion of NAL
OMA'20 (NAtural LOgic Meets MAchine Learning), NAL
OMA'21 seeks to continue the series and attract ex
citing contributions.  NALOMA'21 is set out to add
ress two main issues of the NLI community. First,
the approaches and systems currently used to addre
ss NLI are too one-dimensional: they are either pu
rely DL or purely symbolic but do not attempt to c
ombine the two worlds. A second issue concerns dat
asets: existing NLI datasets are either complex en
ough but too small to be used for proper learning,
or large enough but too easy to be claimed to rep
resent human inference. The workshop aims to bridg
 e the gap between ML/DL and symbolic/logic-based a
pproaches to NLI, and it is perhaps the only works
hop organized to do so. It will take place from Ju
ne 14-June 18, 2021, during the International Conf
erence on Computational Semantics (IWCS 2021) orga
nized by the University of Groningen but taking pl
ace fully online due to the pandemic. The worksho
p invites submissions on any (theoretical or compu
tational) topic concerning NLI. We invite two typ
es of submission: - Archival (long or short) pape
rs should report on complete, original and unpubli
shed research. Accepted papers will be published i
n the workshop proceedings and appear in the ACL a
nthology. - Extended abstracts may report on work
in progress or work that was recently published/a
 ccepted at a different venue.
