\nTra ditionally, there has been a deep divide between p hilosophy of\nmathematics dealing with foundationa l issues (questions about mathematical\nontology, connections between logic and mathematics, and the proper\naxiomatic framework) and sociological and didactical approaches to\nmathematics deadling wi th a description of mathematical practice\n(includ ing mathematics education and related matters). Cu rrently, we\nwitness this picture undergoing consi derable changes.\nRecent developments question the special character of philosophy of\nmathematics a s traditionally conceived. Our workshop is devoted to\ndeveloping this line of development further, putting special emphasis on\nthe epistemological i ssues involved.\n
