SUMMARY:The 8th Workshop on Probabilistic Logic Pr
 ogramming (PLP 2021), Virtual
DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20210920
DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20210927
LOCATION:Virtual
DESCRIPTION:Probabilistic logic programming (PLP)
approaches have received much attention in this ce
ntury. They address the need to reason about relat
ional domains under uncertainty arising in a varie
ty of application domains, such as bioinformatics,
the semantic web, robotics, and many more. Develo
pments in PLP include new languages that combine l
ogic programming with probability theory, as well
as algorithms that operate over programs in these
formalisms. The workshop encompasses all aspects
of combining logic, algorithms, programming and pr
obability and provides a forum for the exchange of
ideas, presentation of results and preliminary wo
rk. After seven successful editions of this worksh
op, the eighth edition of PLP will be held at the
ICLP virtual conference organised by the Universit
y of Porto. We hope that this encourages further c
ollaboration between researchers in PLP and resear
chers working in other areas of ICLP. Submissions
will be managed via EasyChair. Contributions shou
ld be prepared in the LNCS style. A mixture of pap
ers are sought including: new results; work in pro
gress; and technical summaries of recent substanti
al contributions.  Papers presenting new results s
hould be 6-15 pages in length. Work in progress an
d technical summaries can be shorter (2-5 pages).
The workshop proceedings will clearly indicate the
type of each paper. At least one author of each a
ccepted paper will be required to attend the works
 hop to present the contribution.
