DESCRIPTION:This workshop aims at bringing togethe
 r scholars from the field of inductive and abducti
 ve reasoning. It will focus on discussing the foll
 owing four recent monographs: Igor Douven's "The t
 heory and Practice of Abduction" (forthcoming), Il
 kka Niiniluotto's "Truth-Seeking by Abduction" (20
 18), John Norton's "The Material Theory of Inducti
 on" (2021), and Gerhard Schurz' "Hume's Problem So
 lved" (2019). Each of these monographs will be dis
 cussed in form of a comprehensive comment as well 
 as replies and reflections by the authors. The wor
 kshop will also host specialist talks from leading
  scholars in this field of research.
