Inductive reasoning is one of the most important reasoning techniques for humans and formalises the intuitive notion of 'reasoning from experience;. It has th us influenced both theoretical work on the formali sation of rational models of thought in Philosophy as well as practical applications in the areas of Artificial Intelligence and, in particular, Machi ne Learning. The First International Conference on Foundations, Applications, and Theory of Inductiv e Logic (FATIL2022) aims at bringing together expe rts from all fields concerned with inductive reaso ning.
\nThe Munich Center for Mathematical Philosophy invites papers, which hav e to be in English and formatted according to the Springer LNCS style (template), in the following t wo categories: Full papers (12 pages max., includi ng references, expected to report on new research that makes a substantial contribution to the field ) and Extended abstracts (2 pages max., including references, can report on research in progress or other issues of interest).
\n\nAll papers will be subject to blind peer review based on the standard criteria of relevance, significance of re sults, originality of ideas, soundness, and qualit y of the presentation. All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings via CEUR- WS, and will be presented at the conference. Autho rs of accepted papers will be invited to submit an extended version of their contribution for a spec ial issue to be published in the Journal of Applie d Logics.
