SUMMARY:The First International Conference on Foun
dations, Applications, and Theory of Inductive Log
 ic (FATIL2022), Munich, Germany
DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20221012

LOCATION:Munich, Germany
DESCRIPTION:Inductive reasoning is one of the most
important reasoning techniques for humans and for
malises the intuitive notion of 'reasoning from ex
perience;. It has thus influenced both theoretica
l work on the formalisation of rational models of
thought in Philosophy as well as practical applica
tions in the areas of Artificial Intelligence and,
in particular, Machine Learning. The First Intern
ational Conference on Foundations, Applications, a
nd Theory of Inductive Logic (FATIL2022) aims at b
ringing together experts from all fields concerned
with inductive reasoning. The Munich Center for
Mathematical Philosophy invites papers, which have
to be in English and formatted according to the S
pringer LNCS style (template), in the following tw
o categories: Full papers (12 pages max., includin
g references, expected to report on new research t
hat makes a substantial contribution to the field)
and Extended abstracts (2 pages max., including r
eferences, can report on research in progress or o
ther issues of interest). All papers will be subj
ect to blind peer review based on the standard cri
teria of relevance, significance of results, origi
nality of ideas, soundness, and quality of the pre
sentation. All accepted papers will be published i
n the conference proceedings via CEUR-WS, and will
be presented at the conference. Authors of accept
ed papers will be invited to submit an extended ve
rsion of their contribution for a special issue to
be published in the Journal of Applied Logics.
