The philo sophical tradition of logic overlapped with the de velopment of modern mathematical logic from the fi rst versions of the algebra of logic in the mid ni neteenth-century until inquiries into the logical foundations of mathematics from the early 1930s. T his very fact strongly suggests that there might h ave been significant intersections between what ap pear now as separate disciplines, and raises the q uestion of whether philosophical roots can be trac ed in the development of mathematical logic.The ai m of this conference is to foster further exchange s between those who are doing scholarly research o n the history of logic in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries from various perspectives, in cluding those who focus on the philosophical tradi tion of the nineteenth century and its development s in neo-Kantianism and phenomenology, historians of logic and of related mathematical disciplines, as well as philosophers who are interested in the epistemological issues surrounding modern mathemat ical logic.
\n\nThe conference will take p lace at the University of Turin, Italy. It is plan ned as a hybrid event with face-to-face sessions a nd one online session.
