The XXV I nternational Summer School in Philosophy of Physic s of the University of Urbino will focus on a cruc ial topic of research in physics and philosophy: d ualities, in particular in their gauge/gravity inc arnation, and their philosophical implications.
\n\nThis topic has manifold ramifications, b oth for physics and for philosophy, as our speaker s will show. The three speakers are professor Jona than Bain (Department of Technology, Culture and S ociety/Philosophy Department, NYU), professor Joha nna Erdmenger (Physics Department, University of W ürzburg), and professor Sebastian De Haro (Institu te for Logic, Language and Computation, UvA).
\ nThis year, we wish to offer thr ee young researchers interested in Dualities in Ph ysics and Philosophy the opportunity to test their skills by presenting their original papers to the other participants in a dedicated workshop at the end of the school, which will also feature Jeremy Butterfield (Philosophy Department, University of Cambridge) and Baptiste Le Bihan (Philosophy Depa rtment, University of Geneva) as senior speakers. Interested graduate students, postgraduates, and e arly researchers (Ph.D. degree obtained after Janu ary 2017) are invited to submit a 1000 words abstr act.
