SUMMARY:First International Workshop on Formal Mod
els of Knowledge Diversity (FMKD), Joenkoeping, Sw
 eden
DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20220815
DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20220819
LOCATION:Joenkoeping, Sweden
DESCRIPTION:FMKD@JOWO intends to create a space of
confluence and a forum for discussion for researc
hers interested in knowledge diversity in a wide s
ense, including diversity in terms of diverging pe
 rspectives, different beliefs, semantic heterogene
ity and others. The importance of understanding an
d handling the different forms of diversity that m
 anifest between knowledge formalisations (ontologi
es, knowledge bases, or knowledge graphs) is widel
y recognised and has led to the proposal of a vari
ety of systems of representation, tackling overlap
ping aspects of this phenomenon. Besides understa
nding the phenomenon and considering formal models
for the representation of knowledge diversity, we
are interested in the variety of reasoning proble
ms that emerge in this context, including jointly
reasoning with possibly conflicting sources, inter
preting knowledge from alternative viewpoints, con
solidating the diversity as uncertainty, reasoning
by means of argumentation between the sources and
pursuing knowledge aggregations among others. We
seek three types of contributions: * Full researc
h papers not exceeding 14 pages excluding the bibl
iography. * Short papers not exceeding 6 pages exc
luding the bibliography. * Extended abstracts (pre
sentation only) should be 2-4 pages long including
the bibliography. Please, note that extended abst
racts will not be included in the CEUR proceedings
. All papers must be original and not submitted t
o or accepted by any other workshop, conference or
journal. For inclusion in the JOWO proceedings, s
hort papers must be at least 5 pages long. All con
tributions will be peer-reviewed. Papers should be
submitted non-anonymously in PDF format in compli
ance with the new 1-column CEUR-ART Style. Submiss
ions will be managed via EasyChair. At least one a
uthor of each accepted paper will be required to a
ttend the workshop to present the contribution.
