SUMMARY:"Logic for the AI Spring" Summer School, C
 omo, Italy
DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20220912
DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20220916
LOCATION:Como, Italy
DESCRIPTION:Logic for the AI Spring aims at bringi
ng together logicians and other scientists working
around and within the currently blossoming new AI
Spring. In addition to a glorious past which must
not be forgotten, logic has a fundamental role to
play, which is still largely in the making, in th
e future of AI research and applications. Research
ers entering the field now have an opportunity to
shape logic-based AI in the years to come. The Sch
ool is designed to help them become culturally awa
re of the larger picture, which is made of urgent
scientific and societal challenges, against which
the unprecedented successes of the present AI Spri
ng must be evaluated. PROGRAMME & TOPICS The Scho
ol will feature four 8-hour tutorials: - History
and culture of AI (Stephanie Dick, Simon Fraser Un
iversity) - Combining Machine Learning and Theore
m Proving (Josef Urban, Czech Institute of of Info
rmatics, Robotics and Cybernetics) - Multiagent S
ystems (Michel Wooldridge, Oxford University) - L
 ogic (Alessandra Palmigiano, VU Amsterdam)
