DESCRIPTION:The Multidisciplinary International Sy
 mposium on Disinformation in Open Online Media (MI
 SDOOM) is returning for its 5th edition on 21 and 
 22 November 2023. This time, the conference will b
 e hosted by the National Research Center for Mathe
 matics and Computer Science (CWI) at Amsterdam Sci
 ence Park (Netherlands).  MISDOOM values multidisc
 iplinary research and is designed to be inclusive 
 of different academic disciplines and practices.  
 The symposium provides a platform for researchers,
  industry professionals, and practitioners from va
 rious disciplines such as communication science, c
 omputer science, computational social science, pol
 itical science, psychology, journalism, and media 
 studies to come together and share their knowledge
  and insights on online disinformation.  Keynote S

 hagen   Given that we welcome both social scientis
 ts and computer scientists, and that the publicati
 on strategies of these fields differ, we solicit t
 wo types of contributions that, upon acceptance, r
 esult in the same opportunity to present at MISDOO
 M:  - Papers to be published with Springer LNCS pr
 oceedings. Up to 15 pages (including references) i
 n Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS
 ) format describing original unpublished and new r
 esearch. The work should be structured like a rese
 arch paper, and cover the context of the problem s
 tudied, the research question, approach/methodolog
 y, and results in 6 to 15 pages.  - Authors can al
 so choose to submit an Extended Abstract. The exte
 nded abstract should not exceed 500 words, excludi
 ng references, and can pertain to previously publi
 shed work, ongoing projects, or new research ideas
 . Submissions are not archival and are not formall
 y published. Additionally, authors must submit a c
 onference program abstract of no more than 150 wor
 ds.
