SUMMARY:LogIn Project Workshop: Amplifying underre
presented voices in formal philosophy, London, UK
DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20240426
DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20240426
LOCATION:London, UK
DESCRIPTION:The workshop aims to bring together re
searchers who work on formal philosophy broadly co
nstrued who are either members of traditionally un
derrepresented groups or who work outside of what
is perceived as ``traditional’’ topics in logic an
d formal philosophy. It will be an occasion for di
alogue between researchers who identify as members
of underrepresented groups in academia and resear
chers who work on topics generally regarded as non
-standard in the academic tradition. Confirmed sp
eakers include: Gillian Russell (ANU), Sara Uckelm
an (Durham) and Frederique Jannsen-Lauret (Manches
ter). The workshop will be followed by a panel dis
cussion on how to make formal academic philosophy
a more inclusive environment. We invite submissio
ns from members of traditionally underrepresented
groups of extended abstracts (up to 1000 words) fo
r 3 contributed talks. Any abstract related to log
ic or formal philosophy written by researchers who
are either part of traditionally underrepresented
groups or working on 'non-traditional' logic and
formal philosophy is welcome. We particularly enco
urage submissions on formal topics from a more div
erse and interdisciplinary perspective. We particu
 larly encourage interdisciplinary submissions.
