ogic and Normative Systems (DEON 2025), TU Wien, V
 ienna, Austria

DESCRIPTION:The biennial International Conference
on Deontic Logic and Normative Systems (DEON) conf
erence series aims at bringing together researcher
s interested in the formal study of normative conc
epts, normative reasoning, and normative systems u
sing methods from computer science, artificial int
 elligence, philosophy, linguistics, mathematics, a
nd law. The series particularly aims at fostering
 interdisciplinary collaboration that combines meth
ods from these various fields. In addition to the
general themes of the DEON conference series, DEO
N 2025 encourages the submission of papers on the
special theme of Normative AI. The central aim of
Normative AI is to ensure that AI systems make mor
ally, legally, and socially acceptable decisions.
As AI becomes increasingly important to human soci
ety, it is crucial to ensure that these technologi
es have a positive and responsible impact. This hi
ghly interdisciplinary field involves the evaluati
on and development of theories, formal frameworks,
and algorithms, integrating both symbolic and sub
-symbolic AI methods. We invite submission of ori
ginal and unpublished work. Parallel submission to
journals or other conferences or workshops with p
ublished proceedings is not permitted. The reviewi
ng process is single-blind (non-anonymized). Paper
s should be written in English. Submitted papers s
hould not be longer than 15 pages (excluding refer
ences and technical appendix). We welcome submissi
ons of both theoretical and applied research for D
EON 2025, and encourage interdisciplinary work. -
  Abstract submission deadline: March 01, 2025 - P
aper submission deadline: March 08, 2025 - Notifi
