The bienn ial International Conference on Deontic Logic and Normative Systems (DEON) conference series aims at bringing together researchers interested in the f ormal study of normative concepts, normative reaso ning, and normative systems using methods from com puter science, artificial intelligence, philosophy , linguistics, mathematics, and law. The series pa rticularly aims at fostering interdisciplinary col laboration that combines methods from these variou s fields.
\nIn addition to the general the mes of the DEON conference series, DEON 2025 encou rages the submission of papers on the special them e of Normative AI. The central aim of Normative AI is to ensure that AI systems make morally, legall y, and socially acceptable decisions. As AI become s increasingly important to human society, it is c rucial to ensure that these technologies have a po sitive and responsible impact. This highly interdi sciplinary field involves the evaluation and devel opment of theories, formal frameworks, and algorit hms, integrating both symbolic and sub-symbolic AI methods.
\nWe invite submiss ion of original and unpublished work. Parallel sub mission to journals or other conferences or worksh ops with published proceedings is not permitted. T he reviewing process is single-blind (non-anonymiz ed). Papers should be written in English. Submitte d papers should not be longer than 15 pages (exclu ding references and technical appendix). We welcom e submissions of both theoretical and applied rese arch for DEON 2025, and encourage interdisciplinar y work.
