DESCRIPTION:The European Conference on Argumentati
 on (ECA) is a biennial pan-European initiative aim
 ing to consolidate and advance research on argumen
 tation. After four successful editions, ECA will b
 e hosted in 2025 by the Warsaw University of Techn
 ology, in Warsaw, Poland. We aim to attract schola
 rs on argumentation worldwide from various discipl
 ines, dealing with a range of themes and adopting 
 a variety of approaches.  The special theme of thi
 s conference is Argumentation in the Digital Socie
 ty. The main objective of the conference is to ide
 ntify the key research areas related to the dynami
 cs of change and development in today's digitised 
 society. There is a need to develop the theoretica
 l tools of argumentation and related disciplines t
 hat allow discussion and argument to be founded on
  trust, charity, and goodwill. The conference aims
  to explore these topics and ensure a high-quality
  exchange of research results.  The ECA 2025 summe
 r school organized by Barbara Konat and Leonard Ku
 pś (Faculty of Psychology and Cognitive Sciences) 
 will take place at Adam Mickiewicz University, in 
 Poznań, Poland, before the ECA conference, from 17
 th to 20th September 2025. The summer school allow
 s Early Career Researchers to explore current meth
 ods in the empirical analysis of natural language 
 argumentation. This includes a variety of topics s
 uch as formal and informal logic, erotetic logic, 
 computational approaches, conversation and discour
 se analysis, and experimental methods in psycholog
 y with a strong focus on practical, hands-on analy
 sis.  We invite submissions from all sub-disciplin
 es of argumentation, on all relevant topics, and e
 mploy a variety of methods and approaches. Submiss
 ions outside of the scope of the special theme Arg
 umentation in the Digital Society are also accepte
 d.  Submissions will open on 20 January 2025 via t
 he Easy Chair platform.
