DESCRIPTION:The European Digital DemocracY network
  (EDDY) aims to bring together academics and pract
 itioners actively working on or with digital democ
 racy, to foster collaboration and knowledge exchan
 ge. After a very successful first edition, EDDY is
  proud to announce its second in-person conference
 , 'Digital Democracy: Bridging Theory and Practice
 ' (EDDY2025), taking place at the University of Pa
 ris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, France, on the 12th and 1
 3th of June, 2025.  The event will feature contrib
 uted talks through an open call (see below), a ran
 ge of social and interactive sessions (networking,
  round-table discussions, demo sessions, etc.), an
 d a variety of academic and non-academic keynote s
 peakers, including Umberto Grandi (Professor of Co
 mputer Science at the University of Toulouse), Car
 olina Romero Cruz (co-founder and project manager 
 at Decidim), and Simone Vannuccini (Junior Profess
 or of Economics at Université Côte d'Azur).  We ar
 e opening two tracks for selected contributions at
  the conference: the talks track and the demos tra
 ck. We welcome contributions from both academics a
 nd practitioners on any of the following topics, i
 n relation to digital democracy: online deliberati
 on, liquid democracy, the public sphere, apps and 
 tools for online decision-making, machine learning
 , crowdsourcing, the digital divide, participatory
  budgeting, computational social choice, digital i
 dentities, social media, popular will, cryptocurre
 ncies & blockchain, secrecy vs. publicity of votes
  and opinions.  We particularly welcome submission
 s by students and early career scholars or practit
 ioners.  Contributions will be selected on the bas
 is of their connection to EDDY’s goals, with an ey
 e toward the conference’s multi-, cross-disciplina
 ry target audience and the diversity of projects a
 nd contributors. Depending on the number of submis
 sions, some contributions may be selected for a po
 ster presentation instead. Notification of accepta
 nce is expected by March 21st, 2025.
