The SELCS Annual Conference is a valuable event to pause, r eflect, and engage with the key issues shaping edu cation, language, and lifelong learning. This even t marks an exciting new chapter, bringing together two long-standing and valued initiatives: the War wick International Conference in Applied Linguisti cs (WICAL) and the Education Studies Postgraduate Research (PGR) Conference.
\nLed by postgr aduate researchers from across Education Studies, Applied Linguistics, and the Centre for Lifelong L earning, the conference reflects a collaborative a nd interdisciplinary approach. By bringing these c ommunities together, the joint format creates rich er opportunities for dialogue, fosters cross-disci plinary connections, and broadens perspectives on shared research concerns. It offers a space for po stgraduate researchers, early career researchers, and scholars to present their work, exchange ideas , and engage in thoughtful and critical discussion within a diverse and inclusive academic community .
\nThe theme of this year is Transformations and Innovations in Language, Educ ation, and Lifelong Learning. Through this theme, we aim to foster dialogue that bridges disciplines , challenges assumptions, and inspires new ways of thinking about learning across the lifespan. In t his conference, we provide a space for participant s to reflect on how research, pedagogy, and profes sional practice are evolving in response to rapidl y changing social, cultural, and technological lan dscapes.
