The distributed nature of wireline and wireless communication networks gives rise to many challen ges related to their analysis, control, and manage ment. The selfish nature of users, development of decentralized control mechanisms, and fair allocat ion of system resources are among major issues in networks research. Consequently, game theoretic me thods are increasingly utilized to gain a deeper u nderstanding of these complex problems and systems . Specifically, game theoretic models have been us ed in the context of Internet pricing, flow and co ngestion control, routing, power control, and rece ntly security, among many other topics. The applic ation of game theory to communication networks has attracted researchers from a variety of disciplin es, including computer science, operations researc h, control theory, and economics. This workshop aims to bring together researchers who are interes ted in all aspects of the application game theory to the analysis and design of communication networ ks. The goal is to display the state-of-the-art in this evolving field, as well as stir discussion a nd outline possible directions for further progres s. For more information, see http://www.game-com m.org/ The GameComm 2008 workshop solicits techn ical papers describing original, previously unpubl ished research on all aspects of game theoretical analysis as it applies to communication networks. Submission deadline: June 10, 2008. Selected paper s will be considered for publication in a special issue of the Telecommunication Systems Journal ded icated to GameComm 2008.
