SUMMARY:Computability in Europe (CiE 2009), Heidel
 berg, Germany
DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20090719
DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20090724
LOCATION:Heidelberg, Germany
DESCRIPTION:CiE 2009 is the fifth in a series of c
onferences organised by CiE (Computability in Euro
pe), a European association of mathematicians, log
 icians, computer scientists, philosophers, physici
sts and others interested in new developments in c
omputability and their underlying significance for
the real world. Previous meetings took place in A
 msterdam (2005), Swansea (2006), Siena (2007) and
Athens (2008). CiE 2009 has a broad scope and br
idges the gap from the theoretical methods of math
ematical and meta-mathematical flavour to the appl
ied and industrial questions of computational prac
tice. The conference aims to bring together resear
chers who want to explore the historical and philo
sophical aspects of the field. For more informat
 ion, see http://www.math.uni-heidelberg.de/logic/c
ie2009/ The Programme Committee cordially invite
s all researchers (European and non-European) in c
omputability related areas to submit their papers
(in PDF-format, max 10 pages) for presentation at
CiE 2009. The committee particularly invites paper
s that build bridges between different parts of th
e research community. Submission date of papers: J
 anuary 20, 2009.
