SUMMARY:Fifth International Workshop on Modelling
of Objects, Components, and Agents (MOCA 2009), Ha
 mburg, Germany
DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20090911
DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20090911
LOCATION:Hamburg, Germany
DESCRIPTION:Objects, components, and agents are fu
ndamental units to organise models. They are also
fundamental concepts of the modelling process. Eve
n though software engineers intensively use models
based on these fundamental units, and models are
the subjects of theoretical research, the relation
s and potential mutual enhancements between theore
tical and practical models have not been sufficien
tly investigated. There is still the need for bett
er modelling languages, standards and tools. Impor
tant research areas are for example UML, BPEL, Pet
ri nets, process algebras, or different kinds of l
ogics. Application areas like business processes,
 (Web) services, production processes, organisation
  of systems, communication, cooperation, cooperati
on, ubiquity, mobility etc. will support the domai
n dependent modelling perspectives. Therefore, t
he workshop addresses all relations between theore
tical foundations of models on the one hand and ob
jects, components, and agents on the other hand wi
th respect to modelling in general. The intention
is to gather research and application directions t
o have a lively mutual exchange of ideas, knowledg
e, viewpoints, and experiences. For more informa
 tion, see http://www.informatik.uni-hamburg.de/TGI
/events/moca09/ or contact the programme commitee
by email at moca09 at informatik.uni-hamburg.de
The Programme Committee cordially invites all rese
archers to submit their papers for presentation. W
e look for contributions describing original resea
rch in topics related to formal methods in combina
tion with object-orientation, components, or agent
s addressing open problems or presenting new ideas
 . Deadline for submissions: July 17, 2009
