DESCRIPTION:Diagrams is an international and inter
 disciplinary conference series, covering all aspec
 ts of research on the theory and application of di
 agrams.   Recent advances in technology have enabl
 ed the use of diagrams, sketches and other visuali
 zations to become an integral part of our lives. F
 or effective communication with these novel and so
 phisticated visual representations, we need insigh
 t into how diagrams are used, how they are represe
 nted, which types are available and when it is app
 ropriate to use them. These concerns have triggere
 d a surge of interest in the study of diagrammatic
  notations for communication, cognition, creative 
 thought, computation and problem-solving.   For mo

 l consist of sessions including presentations of r

 and short research papers, posters, and tutorial a
 nd workshop proposals. Deadline for abstract submi
 ssion: 8 January 2010.
