SUMMARY:Workshop "Degrees of Belief vs Belief", St
 irling, Scotland
DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20100514
DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20100515
LOCATION:Stirling, Scotland
DESCRIPTION:This is the second of a series of work
shops looking at issues located in the area of ove
rlap between formal and traditional epistemology.
The general thought behind this workshop is to bri
ng together both formal and 'traditional' epistemo
logists for an event dedicated to a topic lying wi
thin the area of overlap between the two. The topi
c for the workshop is the relationship between bel
iefs and degrees of belief. The notion of belief i
s often used by 'traditional' epistemologists, whi
le the idea of degrees of belief is at the heart o
f formal methods in epistemology and the philosoph
y of science. For more information, see http://w
