SUMMARY:9th conference on Computational Semantics
 (IWCS 2011), Oxford, U.K.

LOCATION:Oxford, U.K.
DESCRIPTION:The University of Oxford will host the
Ninth International Conference on Computational S
emantics (IWCS-2011), which will take place at the
Computing Laboratory on 12-14 January 2011. The a
im of the IWCS conference is to bring together res
earchers interested in any aspects of the computat
ion, annotation, extraction, and representation of
meaning in natural language, whether this is from
a lexical or structural semantic perspective. IWC
S embraces both symbolic and statistical approache
s to computational semantics, and everything in be
tween. Areas of special interest for the confere
nce will be computational aspects of meaning of na
tural language within written, spoken, or multimod
al communication. For more information, see http
 ://www.meaningfactory.com/iwcs2011/ Papers are i
nvited that are concerned with topics in these and
closely related areas. Two types of submission ar
e solicited: long papers (describing original rese
arch) and short papers (typically system or projec
t descriptions, or ongoing research). Deadline for
submission is 30 September 2010 for both.
