SUMMARY:12th International Conference on Relationa
l and Algebraic Methods in Computer Science (RAMiC
 S 12), Rotterdam, The Netherlands
DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20110606
DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20110603
LOCATION:Rotterdam, The Netherlands
DESCRIPTION:Over the past twenty years, the RelMiC
S (Relational Methods in Computer Science) and AKA
(Applications of Kleene Algebra) conferences have
been a main forum for researchers who use the cal
culus of relations and similar algebraic formalism
s as methodological and conceptual tools. At the l
ast of these conferences it was decided that the t
wo series should be united under the new title "Re
lational and Algebraic Methods in Computer Science
(RAMiCS)". This year, special attention will be p
aid to the fact that the meetings started 20 years
ago at the Banach Center in Warsaw. Relational
and algebraic methods and software tools like RELV
IEW turn out to be useful for solving problems in
social choice and game theory. For that reason thi
s conference includes a special track on computati
onal social choice and social software, organized
by the CFSC (Computational Foundations of Social C
hoice) and SSEAC (Social Software for Elections, t
he Allocation of tenders and Coalition formation)
projects of the ESF LogICCC programme. For more
 information, see http://www.eur.nl/fw/english/rami
cs12/ or contact Harrie de Swart at deswart at fwb
.eur.nl. We invite submissions on the general to
pics of Relational and Algebraic Methods in Comput
er Science, and on Computational Social Choice and
Social Software in particular. Papers and proposa
ls for tutorials are due by December 1, 2010.
