DESCRIPTION:The 3rd International Conference on Ma
 thematics and Computation in Music (MCM 2011) will
  take place on June 15-17, 2011 at IRCAM, the Inst
 itute for Research and Coordination of Acoustics a
 nd Music in Paris, France. MCM 2011 will be integr
 ated into IRCAM's most important artistic event of
  the season, the Agora Music Festival, which is ru
 nning from June 6 to 18, 2011.   As in the case of
  the first two conferences (which took place in 20
 07 in Berlin and in 2009 at Yale University), the 
 third Mathematics and Computation in Music Confere
 nce aims to provide a multi-disciplinary platform 
 dedicated to the communication and exchange of ide
 as amongst researchers involved in mathematics, co
 mputer science, music theory, composition, musicol
 ogy, or other related disciplines. One of the Keyn
 ote speakers will be the renowned composer and con
 ductor Pierre Boulez, founder and honorary directo
 r of IRCAM. It will be accompanied by a series of 
 conference-related artistic events (concerts, exhi
 bitions, workshops, ...) organised in collaboratio
 n with some of the most important cultural and edu
 cational centres of France, such as the Centre Pom
