SUMMARY:Computational Linguistics Applications (CL
 A'11), Jachranka, Poland
DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20111017
DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20111019
LOCATION:Jachranka, Poland
DESCRIPTION:The Computational Linguistics - Applic
ations Conference was established in 2008 as the W
orkshop for its first three editions in response t
o the fast-paced progress in the area, to create a
dialog between researchers and practitioners invo
lved in Computational Linguistics and related area
s of Information Technology. Traditionally, comp
utational linguistics was limited to the scientist
s specialized in the processing of a natural langu
age by computers. Scientific approaches and practi
cal techniques come from linguistics, computer sci
ence, psychology, and mathematics. Nowadays, there
is a number of practical applications available.
These applications are sometimes developed by smar
t yet NLP-untrained developers who solve the probl
ems using sophisticated heuristics. CLA aims to be
a meeting place for both parties in order to shar
e views and ideas. It will help scientist to bette
r understand real world needs and practitioners no
t to reinvent the wheel. The Conference will focus
on practical outcome of modeling human language u
se and the applications needed to improve human-ma
chine interaction. For more information, see htt
p://www.cla-conf.org/ This call is for papers tha
t present research and practical developments on a
ll aspects of Natural Language Processing used in
real-life applications. Deadline for Full paper su
 bmission: June 20th, 2011.
