SUMMARY:13th European Conference on Logics in Arti
ficial Intelligence (JELIA 2012), Toulouse, France
DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20120926
DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20120928
LOCATION:Toulouse, France
DESCRIPTION:Logics provide a formal basis and key
descriptive notation for the study and development
of applications and systems in Artificial Intelli
gence (AI). With the depth and maturity of formali
sms, methodologies, and systems today, such logics
are increasingly important. The European Conferen
ce on Logics in Artificial Intelligence began back
in 1988, as a workshop, in response to the need f
or a European forum for the discussion of emerging
work in this field. Since then, JELIA has been or
ganized biennially, with English as the official l
anguage, and with proceedings published in Springe
r-Verlag's Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligenc
e series. In 2012 the conference is organized in T
oulouse, France. The increasing interest in this f
orum, its international level with growing partici
pation from researchers outside Europe, and the ov
erall technical quality, has turned JELIA into a m
ajor forum for the discussion of logic-based appro
aches to AI. The aim of JELIA 2012 is to bring t
ogether active researchers interested in all aspec
ts concerning the use of logics in Artificial Inte
lligence to discuss current research, results, pro
blems, and applications of both theoretical and pr
actical nature. JELIA strives to foster links and
facilitate cross-fertilization of ideas among rese
archers from various disciplines, among researcher
s from academia and industry, and between theoreti
cians and practitioners. For more information, s
 ee http://www.irit.fr/jelia2012/ Authors are invi
ted to submit papers presenting original and unpub
lished research in all areas related to the use of
logics in Artificial Intelligence. There will be
two categories for submissions: Regular papers and
System descriptions. (Extended) deadline for abst
 ract submission: May 22.
