DESCRIPTION:The Summer School in Social Simulation
 : A hands-on approach program, organized by the La
 boratory for Socio-Historical Dynamics Simulation 
 (LSDS - UAB) offers an intensive hands-on course o
 n multi-agent modeling applied to the social scien
 ces using the Netlogo modeling environment. Partic
 ipants will be able to debut immediately in the fi
 eld and to present their own simulation model at t
 he end of the course.   The program will be conduc
 ted by researchers in artificial intelligence, soc
 iology, economics, archeology and other fields in 
 the social sciences who, parallel to the course, w
 ill present the state-of-the-art research on the i
 mplementation of social simulation in their fields
  of expertise. The course is mainly directed to ad
 vanced students and researchers in the various fie
 lds of the social sciences who wish to approximate
  or to deepen in the knowledge of agent-based simu
 lation to analyze complex phenomena in the context
