 ). He will give lectures on quantification and mod
 ality, based on his forthcoming book on those issu
 es.   The course is open for a limited number of e
 xternal participants. Prospective participants are
  asked to prepare for the course by studying the f
 irst three chapters of Williamson's book, which wi
