SUMMARY:Logic, Knowledge, and Language - Paul Goch
 et Memorial Conference, Brussels, Belgium
DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20130314
DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20130315
LOCATION:Brussels, Belgium
DESCRIPTION:The impact of the development of forma
l logic on philosophy in the 20th Century is well-
documented. More recently the rise of formal philo
sophy, and in particular the application of formal
methods in epistemology and semantics has proved
that logical and mathematical methods have a brigh
t future in philosophy. With his work on Quine, P
. Gochet played an important role in the former mo
vement. Yet, he was also one of the first to recog
nize the importance of the interactive and dynamic
turn in epistemology and formal semantics that ch
aracterize the latter movement. Speakers: Patrick
Blackburn, Jaakko Hintikka (TBC), Philippe de Rou
ilhan, Dov Gabbay, Susan Haack, Gerhard Heinzmann,
Hourya Sinaceur, Jean-Maurice Monnoyer, Johan van
Benthem, Vincent Hendricks, Jacques Dubucs, Dagfi
nn Føllesdal, Alex Orenstein, Shahid Rahman. For
