SUMMARY:Concept Acquisition and the Role of Langua
 ge, Durham, U.K.
DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20130527
DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20130528
LOCATION:Durham, U.K.
DESCRIPTION:Historically, issues concerning concep
t acquisition have focused around the nativism/emp
iricism debate. The central concern was to give an
account of how new concepts are formed, and what
influence the external world has on such processes
(if any). More recently however, a trend in the l
iterature has focused on the way that the nature o
f concepts might change throughout development. Th
is workshop looks to assess the recent literature
on these questions with particular focus on the ro
le of language acquisition in the developmental pr
ocess. For more information, see http://www.dur.

oming/ or here, or contact j.t.m.miller at durham.
