SUMMARY:Second Symposium on History and Philosophy
of Programming (HaPoP 2), London, U.K.
DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20140401
DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20140404
LOCATION:London, U.K.
DESCRIPTION:A historical awareness of the evolutio
n of computing not only helps to clarify the compl
ex structure of the computing sciences, but it als
o provides an insight in what computing was, is an
d maybe could be in the future. Philosophy, on the
other hand, helps to tackle some of the fundament
al problems of computing. The aim of this symposiu
m is to zoom into one fundamental aspect of comput
ing, that is the foundational and the historical p
roblems and developments related to the science of
programming. The convention is organised by th
e Society for the Study of Artificial Intelligence
and Simulation of Behaviour (AISB) as part of the
AISB-50 Annual Convention 2014 to be held at Gold
smiths, University of London, on April 1st-4th 201
 4. For more information, see http://www.computin
 g-conference.ugent.be/hapop2. The Programme Com
mittee cordially invites all researchers to submit
their papers for presentation. Full paper submiss
 ion deadline: 3 January 2014.
